Brunswick Staffer Wins Two Gold and One Silver at the European Youth Championships

The European Youth Championship 2014 took place on April 12-21 in Odense, Denmark. It was the main tournament of the year among teenagers from 28 European countries.

Russia was represented by one of the youngest female teams. The Russian team beat the German, Swedish and British teams, and for the first time in the history of bowling in Russia, won a Gold medal at an International Championship.

Brunswick staff player Maria Bulanova used a Mastermind and Mastermind Genius. She was the best in the second block (1327pins) and showed 279 pins in the qualifying match which helped the team move up to the top four and leave the hosts of the championship (Denmark) without a medal.

The key 234 in the semi final match with the Swedish team and 278 in the final match against the British team brought the victory to the Russian team and made the team members the Champions of the The European Youth Championship 2014.

In the individual match, Maria showed a record score of the championship (1355 pins, avg 225.8). Maria first outscored the All-Events leader and moved on defeat Swedish bowler Cajsa Wegner (201 vs 180) which led Maria to becoming a 2-time champion of The European Youth Championship 2014.

Maria’s average score of 213.7 pins gave also awarded her the silver medal at the All-Events!
